Meet Annie
If you’re here, chances are life hasn’t unfolded quite the way you imagined.
I’m Annie, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with children, teens, parents, and families, with a particular interest in understanding what’s happening beneath the surface.
I’m less interested in simply changing a behavior than in understanding what it might be communicating—what a child is experiencing, what a parent is carrying, and what may be happening within the relationship between them.
My work has brought me into the lives of children and families navigating developmental, medical, and emotional challenges, from early intervention to medical settings and mental health care.
I’ve learned to look at the whole picture.
A child’s development, relationships, medical experiences, and environment can all shape what we see on the surface. Understanding that context changes what we do next.
The Perspective I Bring
Areas Of Experience
-
My background in early intervention has shaped the way I understand children from the very beginning. I’ve worked with infants and young children around developmental differences, regulation, communication, sensory needs, behavior, and the many questions that come with watching a child develop differently than expected.
-
Much of my experience has centered on the transition from the NICU to home, a time that can bring relief, uncertainty, and a whole new set of questions for families. I’ve supported parents as they adjust to caring for a medically complex baby outside the hospital, navigate new routines and concerns, and begin finding their footing as a family.
-
I work directly with children and teens, meeting them in ways that fit their age, development, personality, and way of communicating. Whether concerns show up as anxiety, big emotions, behavior changes, difficulty at school, or struggles in relationships, I’m interested in understanding what’s underneath rather than focusing only on what needs to change.
-
Parenting can bring up far more than questions about what to do next. I work with parents navigating uncertainty, overwhelm, changing family dynamics, and the complicated emotions that can come with caring for a child. When helpful, I also bring the family relationship into the work.
-
I support parents through the transition into parenthood, including the emotional shifts, identity changes, relationship adjustments, and unexpected experiences that can accompany pregnancy and life after birth. My work considers both the parent’s experience and the developing relationship with their baby.
WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK WITH ME
Different people, different stories. Same thoughtful approach.
Curious, Not Judgmental
I want you to feel comfortable bringing the thoughts, questions, and struggles that are hardest to say out loud.
Practical & Collaborative
We’ll make sense of what’s happening together and find strategies that actually fit your child, your family, and your everyday life.
Honest About Complexity
There aren’t always easy answers. I’ll help you navigate the complicated parts without losing sight of what is working, too.
My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling a little more understood, equipped, and hopeful than when you walked in.
